Summer Solstice Ceremony For Women Who Love Nature

Summer Solstice, also known as Litha in Pagan traditions and Midsummer in Celtic traditions, is a celestial event that marks the midpoint of the year. Falling annually between June 19th-21st, it serves as a powerful portal into other worlds and the last opportunity to activate sacred intentions before the Great Wheel of the Year turns towards autumn. For women who love nature and seek connection with the divine, the Summer Solstice, as well as the other seven sabbats holds immense significance.

In this blog post I am sharing a lovely ceremony, correspondences for the Summer Solstice and crystals that work beautifully with this intense solar energy.

Ceremony Overview:

Creating a sacred ceremony for the Summer Solstice doesn’t have to be time-consuming. In fact, this simple ritual takes only five minutes, yet it fosters a deep connection with your inner goddess, the divine feminine, Mother Earth, and the vast universe. Let’s explore the essentials for your Summer Solstice ceremony and suggestions to enhance your experience.

Items for Your Ceremony:

  • A candle (preferably white, or any color that symbolizes fire to you)
  • Something to light the candle with (a match or lighter)

Suggestions for Your Ceremony:

  • Find a tranquil space away from distractions.
  • Disconnect from technology by taking the phone off the hook and switching off your cellphone.
  • Play spiritually uplifting music. Personally, I recommend enchanting melodies by Lorenna McKennitt. Click here to listen to one of my favorite Lorenna albums.

Ceremony Steps:

  1. Sit comfortably and allow yourself a moment to settle and center. Take two or three deep breaths, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
  2. Once you feel grounded and connected to your inner goddess and divinity, light the candle and recite the following Summer Solstice Invocation below.
  3. Take a minute or two to reflect on how you can spend time each day enjoying the blessings of the summer season.
  4. Blow out or snuff the candle.

Summer Solstice Invocation:

By lighting this candle I honor the Summer Solstice. By fire I honor the divine that lives within me, the universe, and the turning of the wheel. I thank you for the longer days, the breezy summer evenings, and the time to relax and connect with Mother Earth and loved ones. May I always remember to be present each and every moment and stay connected to gratitude for my many blessings. And so it is.
