Simple Spring Body Cleanse For Goddesspreneurs

Cultivating wellness is an essential pillar of my work at The Goddess Lifestyle Plan®. Body, Mind and Spirit wellness is a part of every program I create and facilitate,  because I believe wellness and well -being is THAT IMPORTANT.

Many years ago I noticed that we humans tend to make decisions based on how we feel in that particular moment – so when we’re tired, we make tired decisions. When we’re stressed out, we make stressed out decisions, etc.

A Goddesspreneur takes care of her body, mind and spirit because she knows that in order to make the impact and income she desires, she must feel her best.

Nature Knows Best

Nature is part of the intelligence that governs all creation. It operates perfectly when left alone, and springtime happens to be the most opportune time of year to do a body detox or cleanse. Springtime is when plants that assist our body with detox begin to sprout – and springtime corresponds magically and energetically to new beginnings.

Living rhythmically is the most effective personal and spiritual development path you will ever come across!

I choose to use the word “cleanse” instead of “detox” because detox sounds aggressive… and the word “cleanse” sounds more gentle in my mind.

What is a body cleanse?

A cleanse a practice where you eliminate foods and habits that cause burden to the body and replace them with foods and habits that nourish the entire body and its various systems while assisting the body in gently flushing out any built up toxins within it.

Now Don’t Get Ahead Of Yourself And Shut Your Ears

Whenever the word “cleanse” is spoken, most women I know cringe. It could be resistance to deprivation of the food and drink we enjoy, the resistance to feeling hungry, or the thought of drinking only fluids for days on end. None of that here Goddess – NO WAY! This cleanse has you crowding out the unhealthy stuff by adding in more of “good for you” stuff! This is a much easier method and it will do your body and mind a world of good.

As I mentioned earlier, spring is the perfect time to begin a body cleanse because spring is a time of renewal. After moving through a dark and cold winter, life begins to stir and nature gives us a bounty of tonic herbs to help cleanse and nourish the body and it’s systems. I personally need to chew food, so this cleanse is totally doable for me. This simple spring body cleanse will help to flush out toxins in your system, help strengthen your liver (the master detox organ of the body), clear your mind, and potentially help you naturally release excess weight.

Simple Spring Body Cleanse

You can begin your simple spring body cleanse on or about March 20th (the Spring Equinox) or anytime up until the Summer Solstice in late June. To get started, begin adding bitter greens and roots such as mustard greens, chickweed, wild sorrel, dandelion greens, burdock leaves, nettle greens, violet greens, lamb’s quarters, purslane, sassafras, sarsaparilla, sweet fern, speedwell flowers and greens, spruce tips, plantain or upland cress to your daily intake – every day.

I do this by making a soup with the greens or adding assorted spring tonic greens to a salad. I keep the dressing simple too – a light drizzle of EVOO (extra virgin olive oil), a quick squeeze of a fresh lemon juice, and sprinkle of Himalayan salt and fresh pepper.

One Month Body Cleanse Suggestions:

  • Limit or cut out sugar and alcohol for one month.
  • Drink at least 8 cups of water per day. (Ideally, you should drink half your body weight in ounces per day. For example, if you weigh 140 pounds drink 70 ounces of water per day)
  • Eat one completely raw meal per day for one month. (There is an abundance of raw food websites out there. Go grab some recipes and eat some RAW food, you are literally ingesting the energy of the sun!)
  • Drink a fresh vegetable juice at least once a day. (below are two of my go to veggie juices)

Energy Boosting Juice

Ingredients:

Kale and spinach
1 celery stalk with leafy tops
1 large carrot
1/4 yam (orange flesh)
1/4 beet
1 cup cabbage, shredded
ginger chunk

Directions:

Juice all ingredients in a juicer and enjoy! This juice will help you improve your health, inner vitality and give you loads of energy!

Alkalizing Green Juice

Makes 1 full-day’s supply

Ingredients:

2 large cucumbers, cut in quarters
1-2 heads celery with leafy tops
5 leaves dinosaur kale
1/4 bunch cilantro (super AWESOME for helping remove metals from your body!!!)
1 lemon, juiced
1 apple

Directions:

Juice all ingredients. Store in sealed glass jars, filled all the way. Alkalizing Green Juice will keep for 1 day.
